About The OG – Salem, OH

At The OG, we believe great food and drink are best enjoyed in good company. Nestled in the heart of Salem, Ohio, The OG is part wine and beer carryout, part neighborhood restaurant, part cocktail lounge — and all about creating a place where people can gather, unwind, and experience something original.

Our name pays tribute to a brewing term (OG) that marks the start of every great beer. But it also stands for The Original — someone who leads with bold ideas, creativity, and heart. That spirit is infused into everything we do.

Inside, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of over 250 unique beers and ciders and more than 150 wines — available to enjoy on-site or to take home. Our updated menu features tapas, elevated American fare, our famous charcuterie boards, and the classic OG steak sandwich that many locals know and love.

Whether you’re dropping by to pick up a favorite bottle or a 6-pack, meeting friends for shared plates and cocktails, or discovering a new favorite over dinner, The OG is your place to gather, explore, and enjoy.

Meet Scott

Scott Larrick is a global traveler, craft beverage enthusiast and the visionary behind The OG. Originally from Westerville, Ohio, Scott has spent the past 14 years in the Mahoning Valley region — six of those in Salem, which he now proudly calls home.

His journey has taken him far beyond Ohio, with five years spent living and working abroad across seven different countries, and travels throughout Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. These experiences fueled his passion for unique wines, small-batch beers, and the power of food and drink to connect people across cultures.

The OG is Scott’s love letter to both community and craft. His vision was simple but powerful: to create a welcoming space where people could gather over good food, creative cocktails and shared experiences. When he’s not at the bar helping guests discover their new favorite drink, you might find him talking music, travel, or spending time with his daughter who lives nearby in Boardman.

At its heart, The OG is more than a restaurant — it’s Scott’s invitation to sit down, stay awhile, and feel at home.
